Description of this Beautiful 8 Bedroom Oceanfront Home and its Amenities

Driving down Highway 12, the anticipation begins to swell as you alternatively see the Atlantic Ocean to the east and the Pamlico Sound to the west. As you arrive at Whaling Station, you find the best of both worlds, views of both the ocean and the sound at the southern tip of Frisco just as the homes disappear into the undeveloped splendor of the Cape Hatteras National Seashore. You are greeted by our quaint wooden sign as you enter the driveway and find plenty of parking space for you and all the family and friends who accompany you to this spacious 8 bedroom home measuring over 4000 square feet. Looking at the stairs to the gorgeous front door, it is comforting to know that there is a cargo lift from the parking pad to the second floor so you don’t have to carry all the luggage and supplies for your week’s vacation up two flights of stairs. And we provide the linens, so there's no need to drag them along. Hopefully, you’ve used this website and the photos and floor plan to assign bedrooms in advance of arrival, otherwise the mad dash to claim space begins. The bedroom choices are exhausting. There are 3 oceanfront Master bedrooms with king size beds and private baths, one on the third floor (bedroom 1) and two on the second floor (bedrooms 2 and 5). The second floor bedrooms are completed with two queen bedrooms that are oceanfront (bedrooms 3 and 4) and share a semi-private bathroom that is located conveniently between them and not otherwise accessible. The first floor has 3 bedrooms: an oceanfront room with a twin/full combination bunk beds with a trundel (bedroom 7) and two sound view bedrooms, one with 2 twin beds (bedroom 8) and the other with a twin/full bunk combination (bedroom 6). There is a full bath on this level, along with the game room complete with a pool table, foosball, a 42" HD television with digital cable and VCR and DVD players for watching movies, and a second kitchen with a full-size refrigerator and microwave for cold drinks, snacks, or whatever, without leaving the pool and recreation level. Perhaps it is best to relegate the children or sleepless members of the party to this floor, given the accessibility to not only the game room, but also the hot tub and pool. Cooking and dining occur on the third floor, unless you want to use the charcoal grill and eat out by the swimming pool. There is a fully equipped kitchen with a large breakfast bar, two dishwashers, and plenty of room to prepare a feast that worthy of your large party of family and friends. Abutting the kitchen is a huge dining area with a wonderful view of the ocean. The wide open great room is stunning, with plenty of room on comfortable sofas and chairs for everyone. A home theatre system awaits with digital cable and a 42" HDTV. VCR and DVD players are provided for watching movies you bring along or rent in nearby Hatteras. There is even a gas fireplace for chilly Spring and Fall evenings. There are huge windows throughout this level providing stunning, expansive views of both the Atlantic Ocean and the Pamlico Sound. Enough said about the accommodations, let’s get outside. You’re here to vacation and enjoy the beach. There are decks everywhere! Oceanfront decks on all three levels that run the entire width of the house. As you stand on the upper deck in the late evening, you can imagine what it was like 200 years ago to stand on the Widow’s Walk and wait for a husband or son to return on a whaling vessel after a long voyage at sea. Soundside, there are decks on the second and third floors for viewing the gorgeous sunsets. On the first level, there is a sunken hot tub and a large 14X26 foot private pool for just you and your guests. There is a charcoal grill by the pool, along with two picnic tables and plentiful poolside seating, just in case you can’t bring yourself to leave the cool evening breeze and salt air. There is easy ocean beach access using a walkway over the dunes. Access to the Pamlico Sound is just a short walk. This is our home away from home. We want to share it with you for your vacation.
